StedFAST:
Belt Alignment and Tear Sensor
Misaligned or torn conveyor belts cause spillage, which in turn can result in costly loss of product and, and in some cases, damage to your equipment. Reduce these risks to your profitability with the Davis Derby Belt Alignment and Tear Sensor.
Comprising identical twin transducer units positioned either side of your conveyor, the sensor will detect potential misalignment, or wander, by way of its vertically mounted rollers, constructed either of nylon 66 or ceramic. When brought into contact with the misaligned belt, the roller will trigger a rotary switch in its unit, safely stopping the conveyor and preventing any further damage. The sensor offers both latching and non–latching operation options.
Dual plastic coated steel wires set at an angle to suit the curvature of your conveyor belt provide tear protection.
By adjusting the length of the steel wires you can tailor this flexible system to the width of all your conveyors. Similarly, as the only part of the unit positioned beneath the conveyor – the enclosures being side–mounted – the sensor is very easy to install and service.
Some versions of the Belt Alignment & Tear Sensor are certified intrinsically safe to the CENELEC standard EN50 020 category EEx ia I.
